Meet Tab!
Horror Heroine
I have three cats - Hecate, Khoshehk, and Darby. I love to read, watch movies (especially horror), and cross stitch.
Personal Heroes:
Rod Serling - He was one of the first people to use horror and sci-fi to talk about social issues with "The Twilight Zone"
Joan Jett - She's a badass and I listen to her music when I need a confidence boost.
Vito Russo - A dedicated activist and film lover, he wrote the book The Celluloid Closet and taught about the history of LGBTQ representation in film.
Items She Can’t Live Without:
Air Pods - I need them at all times for listening to music and podcasts.
Planner - Especially with school and the show, I need it to keep me organized!
Dr Pepper - My blood is probably 70% Dr Pepper at this point.
How She Got Into Horror:
It was a combination of buying the Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark books from the Scholastic Book Fair, watching Alfred Hitchcock movies on TCM and AMC, and watching true crime shows and “Unsolved Mysteries” with my mom, which all coincided at the same time.
What She Likes About Horror:
I love how diverse it is topic-wise. I firmly believe that there is a horror movie out there for everyone. I also love that it can be used to talk about issues that audiences can find uncomfortable, such as racism, homophobia, mental health struggles, etc.
